Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth director, Naoki Hamaguchi, has acknowledged how much fans want to see the Knights of the Round Summon in the remake trilogy.
One of the best parts of Final Fantasy 7 Remake was getting the chance to see all of our favourite Summons reimagined for a new generation, from Ifrit and Leviathan to Carbuncle and Shiva. This went even further with Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, which introduced several more remade versions of iconic Summons such as Titan and Odin.

What can this propaganda pup tell us about the future of Final Fantasy 7?
As great as the new Summons are, there are still some notable absences in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, with several fan-favourites from the original game not making an appearance in the latest entry like we had all been hoping. Even if they did skip Rebirth, it seems likely that we're going to be getting them in the final game of the trilogy.
Rebirth's Director Knows We Want The Knights Of The Round
Last week, the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Ultimania released in Japan, giving us a ton of new information about the game from developer interviews and behind-the-scenes secrets. Twitter user aitaikimochi has been translating and sharing some of the best tidbits from the Ultimania, such as a discussion about what happened to Aerith and soft-confirmation about there being alternate universes.
Although most of what aitaikimochi has shared so far has focused on the many questions surrounding Rebirth's story, there have also been some interesting reveals about gameplay mechanics across the two games released so far. One such comment comes from Rebirth's director, Naoki Hamaguchi, who acknowledges how much we all want to see the Knights of the Round as a Summon.
For those that don't know, the Knights of the Round are an unlockable Summon in Final Fantasy 7 and one of the most powerful in the game. They're harder to get than most of the other Summons in the game, but it's well worth the effort as they're incredibly useful. Many fans hoped they'd be in Rebirth, but it seems they're being saved for the third game.
According to aitaikimochi's translations, Hamaguchi said that there are four Summons from the original game who have yet to appear and that he knows we all want Knights of the Round. He also said that he wants to live up to expectations for them in particular, which means they're likely to be particularly epic.
Hamaguchi also pointed out that the team worked hard this time around to match each Summon to the area that they're found in Rebirth, something that will likely happen again in Part 3.
That's not a whole lot to go off of, but it does at least confirm that Hamaguchi and the developers have some big plans for the remaining Summons in Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 and that we can expect to see something show-stopping from The Knights of the Round.
